Ford Transit Custom RS Camper ‘Red Edition’

Now available is our exquisite Ford Transit Custom ‘RS Camper’ brand-new campervan conversion. Based on a 2017 Ford Transit ‘Limited Edition’, the vehicle comes with a fantastic spec and has been hugely upgraded through the conversion. The camper is driven via a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 2.0 Diesel engine with ‘Ad-Blue’  technology, having covered just 33,000 miles since new, the engine pushes out 130bhp.

To the exterior, the striking, customised chrome red ‘RS Camper‘ decals stand out from the crowd with the contrasting matte-grey additions on top of the ‘Frozen White’ paintwork. The camper has had a full ‘RS’ bodykit fitted, comprising of front bumper additions, side-skirts, arch extensions and rear valence with chrome twin-exhausts and a two-piece roof spoiler to the rear. The look is finished with 20-inch graphite grey ‘Motorsport’ style wheels and red painted brake callipers to continue the colour theme. The white-two piece pop-top roof has a smart, vented, black-out canvas and three openings to add a feel of space and light to the interior, whilst retaining a smart look to the exterior. The external 240v hook-up point is nicely camouflaged in the same colour as the body, in order to the keep the sleek look of the campervan.

As we enter the cab area, the first thing to catch your eye is the custom ‘RS’ black seats with red stitching, inserts and logos. The drivers seat has its own foldable armrest, whilst an additional one can be pulled from the central seat, with additional cupholders also in this area. The leather, multi-function steering wheel has cruise/speed limiting and media controls. The cab area also benefits from heated seats, as well as air-conditioning to keep the temperature in check. Infront of the drivers area is a storage compartment with 12v, USB and Auxiliary input connections within. The camper has a number of driver aids, including automatic lights and window wipers, electric folding mirrors and electric windows and a heated windscreen. To the centre of the dash is where we find the headunit, with DAB radio and bluetooth connectivity.

As we enter through the sliding door, we have the habitation area which is professionally and thoroughly insulated and carpeted throughout. Based around a stylish slate-grey kitchen with red edging and colourful splash back behind the sink area, the camper certainly continues the exterior look to the interior. Underfoot is a sparkle-finish vinyl floor; both hardwearing and practical. Hand-built in the UK and cut by the very latest CNC technology, the kitchen has been meticulously fitted and is a great credit to the camper. Housed within the units is the compact Dometic CRE 50 12v refrigerator with optional freezer compartment and a Dometic sink/gas-burner (two ring) hob unit within the black sparkle worktop above. With space saving in mind, there is also a collapsable 240v/USB charging point housed on the worktop, with additional 12v and 240v points below. The habitation area also has a top of the range Bluetooth speaker and portable WiFi unit to provide entertainment. Overhead is the Sargent control panel; the brains of the camper, with the whole area lit up via individually-switched LED spotlights. The smart and effective black tambor doors are a great space saver and allow easy access to the cupboard below as well as the wardrobe unit. The foldaway dining table tucks nicely away behind the drivers seat when not in use. Two flyover units provide additional storage space without using up any living space to finish off the look. To the rear we have a 12v, remote control operated rock ‘n’ roll double bed; because why push and pull when you can just press a button. The M1 crash-tested bed also has two 3-point seatbelts for travelling and is clad in black/red leatherette to complement the front seats. Overhead, within the pop-top roof is a further sleeping area, raised up easily with gas-struts. Surrounding black-out blinds provide plenty of privacy on top of the tinted windows.

As we enter the rear doors, we have additional storage space within the wardrobe and a (correctly sealed and vented, safe) gas locker below. The Sargent RCD unit and split-charger is also housed within this area. Finally, there is additional storage space below the Rock’n’Roll bed, accessed via a closable door.
